Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Overview

SEOPilot is a Chrome extension that performs on-page SEO audits of websites you visit. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains exactly what data we store, how we use it, and what we never do.

The short version: all data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or see anything about your browsing or your audit results.

Data We Store

SEOPilot stores the following data locally on your device only, using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API:

No audit results, page content, URLs, or personal information are ever stored, logged, or transmitted.

Permissions Explained

How the Extension Works

When you click the SEOPilot icon and trigger an audit, the extension runs a content script on the active page. This script reads the page's DOM to evaluate on-page SEO signals: the title tag, meta description, H1 heading, image alt attributes, internal and external links, structured data (JSON-LD or microdata), HTTPS status, and the mobile viewport meta tag.

All of this processing happens entirely within your browser. The results are displayed in the extension popup and, on Pro, can be exported as a plain text file that is saved directly to your device. No audit data is sent anywhere.

License Key Validation

SEOPilot uses a simple local format check to validate your Pro license key. No network request is made during validation. Your key is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

Children's Privacy

SEOPilot is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Summary: SEOPilot stores nothing on our servers. The only data saved is your daily audit count and optional Pro license key, both stored locally on your device via chrome.storage.local. We never see what pages you audit or what issues are found.
